6/22/2006 - Pace Walgreens Robbery

On June 22, 2006 at approximately 2300 hours, an unknown black or Hispanic male suspect attempted to rob a female who was sitting in her vehicle at the Walgreen’s parking lot in Pace, FL. This suspect grabbed the woman through the partially opened passenger window and demanded that she give him her money, purse, and medications. The same suspect threatened to kill the victim as he brandished a handgun. The victim was able to pull her arm free, at which time the suspect ran. The victim also saw a white male suspect standing at the rear of her vehicle while the crime was occurring. Both suspects got into an older white car and fled on Highway 90. The suspects left without obtaining any items from the victim. Surveillance video caught both suspects inside the Walgreen’s prior to the robbery occurring. The white male suspect had distinct tattoos on his lower left arm of flames and barbed wire. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the publics help in identifying these two suspects. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff`s Office needs your assistance in apprehending Registered Sex Offender, Joseph Christian Fontana aka Christian Fontana. Fontana disappeared from his residence at 1305 Green Acres Avenue in Fort Walton Beach and his whereabouts remain unknown. Since 2001, Fontana had been visiting with a single mother and her three children in their home. He met the latest victim`s mother at a local church and he eventually committed offenses against her children. A 4 month investigation into the activities of Fontana, a Registered Sex Offender, resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest. Fontana has been arrested involving crimes against children 3 times. This investigation has been a collaborative effort involving Santa Rosa County Sheriff`s Office, Okaloosa County Sheriff`s Office, and The Department of Children and Families. Fontana has been arrested and convicted in LA County, California Pasco County , Florida. Fontana currently has 1 warrant in Okaloosa County and 1 warrant in Santa Rosa County and has been charged with the following: 25 Counts of Sexual Assault on a victim over 12, 25Counts of Lewd & Lascivious behavior (conduct by persons 18 or older), 25 counts of Lewd & Lascivious behavior (exhibit by persons 18 or older victim less than 16), 1 count of showing obscene material to a child. Joseph Christian Fontana is 6`2", 200 pounds with Blonde hair and Brown eyes. On June 21, 2006 at approximately 0943 hours, Eglin Range Patrol summoned Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Deputies to a wooded area off of Highway 87 South near Boiling Creek. Upon arriving at the scene deputies discovered what appeared to be the skeletal remains of a human body. On July 7th, the investigation revealed the identity of the skeletal remains as being Amber Nicole Rohwedder, 17 years old, of Okaloosa County. Rohwedder was reported as a runaway juvenile with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on June 02, 2006. At that time, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators began their investigation cooperatively with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office into the suspicious death. As the case has progressed, it is now being investigated as a homicide. Since this investigation began, Rohwedder’s mother (Anita Sue Pinto-Aguilar) and her step father (Jose Pinto-Aguilar) have left the area and are wanted for questioning in reference to the disappearance of their child. There is a current warrant for the arrest of Anita Pinto-Aguilar for tampering with evidence. There is also a current warrant for the arrest of Jose Pinto-Aguilar, for violation of probation. 5/26/2006 - Robbery

Santa Rosa County Sheriff`s Deputies received a 911 call from dispatch at 0337 hours on 5/26/06 in reference to a robbery at the Tom Thumb on located at 6871 Navarre Pkwy. A deputy arrived at the store shortly thereafter where the clerk gave the deputy a brief description of the suspect. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the scene on a boys silver bicycle with a red pin stripe on the frame by the seat. The suspect is a Hispanic male approximately 5` tall, in his early to mid 20`s with a thin build. He had short black hair, a standard male haircut, brown eyes and a goatee type beard. The suspect had a clean well kept appearance and was wearing a white tee shirt with blue writing on the front, green Bermuda shorts and dirty white tennis shoes. 5/10/2006 - Robbery

On 05/10/06 at 1427 hours, a 911 call was received by Sheriff`s Office dispatch in reference to the armed robbery of "Patriot Pace Storage" on Luther Fowler Road, Pace , Florida . The caller, Hugh McCaffery (69 years old) stated that he was still tied up, but had managed to free himself enough to call the Sheriff`s Office. McCaffery stated that he had been tied up for approximately one hour. When deputies arrived they found McCaffery bound with his hands behind his back with heavy duty zip ties. Packaging tape was also wrapped around his wrists. McCaffery stated that a white male charged into the office and told him to get on the floor, while pointing a large frame handgun at him. Once the suspect had bound McCaffery, he was ordered to crawl into the back office room at which time the suspect bound his feet with a bungee cord and tape. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle. A surveillance camera captured the vehicle, as well as pictures of the suspect. 3/8/2005 - Whitney Bank, Navarre, FL Robbery

On the above date and time, the suspect in the above photos entered the bank and approached one of the tellers showing her a note to give him all of the money. A handgun was also displayed. The suspect ended up leaving the bank without receiving any money. Suspect description: Dark skinned male, possibly hispanic, wearing black leather jacket, baggy dark-colored pants, red beanie style hat, acne scars or ruddy complexion on face, possibly early 30`s or late 20`s, between 5`07" and 5`10" tall. Anyone with any information about this robbery is asked to report the information to Crime Stoppers.
